Make Family Fun Without B$g Spending
The purpose of all family activities should be to have fun together. However, hidden in this main objective the mother and/or father must realize that family unity is developed only by spending "quality" time with each other. Quality does not mean spending money, it means devoting your focus, effort and attention on being with your children and/or spouse. Just because all of you are family does NOT mean you have quality relationships with one another; it won't happen through osmosis. It take serious effort, it takes planning, it takes commitment and it takes buy in from everyone. The leader of family must create "events" which will later be established into family "traditions." Once you get to the tradition level things aren't over because families have human factors; they change, they grow and as such they need to be handled delicately. Trust us, it's so worth the effort!
Memorial Day 2012: $Free$
Grosse Pointe War Memorial; Memorial Day 2012
A great example of a wonderful family event is to spend time together on Memorial Day. It doesn't have to be a barbeque; which entails spending lots of money on food and drink, etc. It can be something so much more. Our family dressed up in our red, white and blue outfits and attended the local ceremony to honor our nations troops that sacrifice so much for our freedom. It provided quality time together, it taught all of us the true meaning of what Memorial Day is all about and we were able meet many new people. Check your local listings to find out where such ceremonies will be held in your local town, and go, make it a family event.
Family Movie Night:
Your Child's Digital Footprint
Ensuring the safety of your children in their on-line world is as important as ensuring their safety in your own backyard. Using social media and the internet shouldn't be a frightening experience for our children; it should be enjoyable and educational. However, as a parent you need to know what social media is and how it functions. Yes; it's your DUTY to be "down-with-the-digital-world."
Here are a few helpful parenting hints:
1. Apply the strangers safety talk to the internet with your children.
2. Get digital yourself; create accounts and get familiar with them.
3. Make sure they know whatever is posted becomes part of their digital profile.
4. Check their digital profile periodically.
5. Contact the social media experts like Haythere or us with questions.

Baby-Back Ribs Family Dinner: $30 or more
Baby-Back Rib Dinner by AskteacherZ
Barbequed Ribs is a family specialty. When the market places baby-back ribs on sale it means only one thing: Family Feast. There's lots of recipes out there for how to make ribs delicious. This recipe is the easiest that I have found and it's a sure proof plan on not having your meat "dried out." The KEY steps are:
Special Note: There are a lot of sauces out there on the market and many of them can be outrageously priced. In my 20+ years of purchasing sauces the most expensive does not mean the best... Open Pit Barbeque Sauce is good for the price BUT my personal favorite and well worth the money is Bone Suckin' Sauce. This sauce not only tastes incredible BUT it's the healthiest stuff we've ever found on the market shelf. It's well worth a try. Bone Suckin' Sauce also comes in varies levels of "heat" and density; there's thicker and hotter.
